16 Aug 2023 // Status SHIPP


Approximately 3000 patients have been included in the SHIPP study so far. The study protocol is now registered at Clinical Trials. We will stop inclusion during the autumn, as 4 years of active inclusion have passed and results are warranted. More information will come!

Per 2022-05-10 1975 patients are now included. The goal is to include 5 300 patients. Additional hospitals in Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark will continue to join the study ahead.

Active inclusion of patients in the SHIPP-study is now ongoing on 12 hospitals in Sweden. We are very happy to welcome our colleagues in Alingsås, Ystad and Mora to this important study!


In addition, first hospital in Norway, Haukeland University Hospital in Bergen, is starting inclusion in the SHIPP-study. Welcome Norway! 


Per today (2021-04-19) 1424 patients are included. Although COVID-19 stunted inclusion for a while, most centers are now back to normal. The goal is to include 5 300 patients. Additional hospitals in Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark will join ahead.

30 June 2020 // Inclusion status


Active inclusion of patients in the SHIPP-study is ongoing on nine hospitals in Sweden.


Today (2020-06-30) 895 patients are included. The goal is to include 5 300 patients. Additional hospitals in Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark will join ahead.


Due to the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic inclusion rate and recruitment of new hospitals to the study during spring 2020 has been limited. We expect at least three new centers to start inclusion later in 2020.
